I thought our Sunday dinner couldn’t get any better but boy was I wrong. The cherry on top was actually the strawberry on top. . . as in Strawberry Guri Guri.
We filled our bellies with Boston Butt, corn, purple hull peas, sliced tomatoes and saffron infused ic pilav. I made my basic ic pilav recipe but instead of water, I used saffron infused water. I will have to post the recipe for that soon. I just realized that I have not posted my ic pilav recipe either. It is sooooo gooooood. I will post both versions. Anyway, back to my story. As I said earlier, the star of the meal was yet to come. When everyone finished eating, I asked if everyone was ready to try out the Strawberry Guri Guri. Of course, it was yes all around. The amazing thing about this dessert is that it is literally only three ingredients! When you make this and you have to make this, you will be surprised and delighted with the results. I mixed mine and put it in my little ice cream freezer for about 40 minutes. Then I poured it into a freezer safe container and let it freeze overnight. I love my ice cream freezer. You can check out my Homemade Milk Chocolate and Dark Cherry Ice Cream recipe if you are not in the mood for a fruity ice cream. Hope you enjoy, Afiyet olsun!
- 24 ounces Strawberry Soda
- 12 ounces 7-Up
- 1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Mix all ingredients in a large container. (When the soda mixes with the condensed milk, it will bubble quite a bit.)
- Pour into a cold ice cream freezer container and freeze according to your machines directions.
- Pour into a freezer safe dish and freeze 4+ hours. I froze mine overnight.
- Scoop into dishes and serve.
- Note: You can skip the ice cream freezer and just place in a freezer safe container in the freezer. Stir after 2 hours. Return to freezer for 2 more hours. Stir again and return to freezer for at least 2 more hours. Enjoy! Afiyet Olsun!
