I am not crazy about sweet food. Don’t get me wrong, I love desserts and sweets but separately from my savory food. I will say though that sometimes, having a sweet sauce to accompany an appetizer or dish makes all the difference in the world. Rich dishes often need a little acidity and sweetness to cut through some of the heaviness. This was the case when I made my Arancini Alabama Style. My daughter’s Honey Mustard Sauce had just the right amount of sweet and sour to cut some of the rich flavor of my yummy little rice balls. This recipe could be doubled and the leftovers (if there are any) could be kept in the fridge. This sauce could be used on chicken fingers, fries or any other fried appetizer. It could also be used as a salad dressing. It is a simple easy recipe that will enhance your dishes.
- 1 Cup Honey
- 1 Cup Dijon Mustard, smooth
- In a covered measuring container, mix the honey and the dijon mustard.
- Replace lid and shake vigorously.
- Alternatively, you can place ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk until well blended.
