Loveless Cafe Nashville
As you can tell from the picture above, my sister, cousin, daughter and I really have a good time together. Sadly, our Sunday lunch at Loveless Cafe Nashville brought our recent girls weekend to an end. We had a great time in Nashville and what better way to end the weekend than a pit stop for some good ‘ol country cooking! Loveless Cafe is famous for their homemade biscuits and they are really yummy smeared with butter and topped with some of the great jelly and jam they bring to the table before your meal. It is hard to stop eating them so pace yourself. The fun thing about eating with people close to you is sampling each others choices. My daughter was in the mood for breakfast so she ordered chocolate chip pancakes. My cousin ordered the Country Fried Steak. I couldn’t decide between the Sunday Special which was Smoked Beef Brisket or the Pit-Cooked Pork and neither could my sister, so I got the brisket and she got the pork. Of course we all tasted each others food so we will know what we like or don’t like next time. I think everyone was pleased with what we ordered. My sister also ordered the Pimento Cheese n’ Fried Green Tomato Biscuit and we quartered it. It was pretty good. I was stuffed by the time the waitress asked us if we wanted dessert so I passed (plus, I have tried the pie before and it was yummy). My cousin got a Made From Scratch Banana Puddin’ and I think she liked it. We have eaten at Loveless twice and both times I was satisfied with my meal. That is saying a lot because I am a tough critic when it comes to restaurant food. I will say one thing. If you are a person who doesn’t like to wait, do not go there. The least amount of time we have waited was about 40 minutes. If you don’t mind waiting, you can go to the little shops and pass some time while you wait. They sell souvenir items as well as jams, jellies, bacon, chow-chow, etc. The Loveless Cafe has been around for more than 60 years. What started out as a resting stop for people traveling between Nashville and Memphis has turned into a National icon in the food industry. In 1982, mail order was added so people around the world could enjoy the famous Jams and smoked country hams. If you can’t make it to Nashville, you can get a little taste of the Loveless Cafe delivered to your door by clicking this link. And by the way, this is not a paid post nor did we receive a free meal, I just wanted to let you all know some of the places I enjoy eating. We also loved Hattie B’s so check them out too. You can read my review of them here. Don’t take my word for it though. . . take a day trip or weekend getaway to Nashville and check them out for yourself.
