Welcome 2014 – Happy New Year! Goodbye 2013. It has been a fantastic year. I was fortunate to spend time with my family and friends on all the holidays this year as well as other get-togethers that we had just for the fun of it. I am truly blessed both materially and spiritually. While the birth of my daughter almost 21 years ago (she’ll be 21 on January 12, 2014) was the happiest day of my life, I can say this is the year that I have felt the happiest in all my 45 years. I think I finally found the key to happiness – just BE HAPPY! You thought it was some big secret didn’t you. So did I until I decided to stop complaining and do whatever has to be done with a happy heart. When things are good, I am happy and when things I are not so great, I am also happy. Why? Because, I finally “get it” that whatever happens in our life is for a reason and if it is tough, we are strong enough to get through it.
We had some yummy snacks to ring in the New Year with. Jalapeno Poppers, Guacamole and Chips, Cocktail Smokies in Crescent Rolls, Black-eyed pea dip, Smoked Salmon Dip with cucumber and baby arugula on the side, and Cacik (Cucumber, yogurt and garlic) with Feta Dip. I would like to thank all my viewers/readers for your support. I want you all to really enjoy my blog so I will be making some changes to the look and I hope you will enjoy it and get more use from it. I know this is going to be a great year! I look forward to sharing my food, my recipes, and my memories with you all this year!
